Brisk early morning walks along the Sausalito waterfront as the sun comes up over Angel Island are somehow sweeter, when shared with a friend or three.
Walking in step in the fresh air, pointing, turning – all that motion makes unexpected memories come to mind. Talk is unexpected, sometimes more candid yet one comes home refreshed, feeling closer, happier.
We release more endorphins when exercising with others than on our own. Thus we double our threshold for pain, research shows yet I must confess my walk/talks have not been strenuous enough to reach pain levels.
Also couples who exercise together are more connected.
Most everyone can have someone with whom they can walk.
It’s so true that couples who exercise together are more connected. We stopped when we got so busy (shame on us!) but Bob and I were doing 5-mile walks every day, completely around one of the lakes here on the island. We talked biz a little too much, but boy, were we energized by those walks.
You have inspired me to “get with the program” again!

All what you suggest is so true and most important to be able to continue living reasonably, instead of working your way to a perish without any cause.
